NBA player Montresle Harel charged with marijuana-related traffic delay

A preliminary hearing for the offense is schedule for July 13 in Madison County Court

People confirm that Charlotte Hornets attacker Montres Harel was charged with smuggling marijuana during a traffic stop in Kentucky last month.

“Mr. Harel NBA player was charge by the Kentucky Police Department with marijuana trafficking on May 12 in Madison County. The Kentucky State Police Department also said in a statement.

Harel, from North Carolina, previously played basketball for the University of Louisville in Kentucky. According to the Associated Press, a US official stopped the Harel after getting too close to another vehicle on May 12. When searched, officers found 1.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in a tightly sealed bag.

The Hornets did not immediately respond to news request for comment on the NBA player.
