Rashford’s Return Impresses Man United Staff
Marcus Rashford appears to have made a strong first impression back at Manchester United, with club insiders reportedly pleased by his attitude since rejoining the squad following his loan spell at Barcelona. The 28-year-old made his first appearance for his boyhood club in 20 months last weekend, and training-ground sources say he has thrown himself into sessions despite the uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at the club.
Growing Belief He Will Stay
There is a rising sense of confidence at Old Trafford that Rashford will remain beyond the closing of the transfer window, even though more than two weeks remain before it shuts. His return followed Barcelona’s decision not to exercise a reported £26 million option to sign him permanently, despite what was considered a productive loan spell in Spain. Interest from other clubs is said to exist, but nothing concrete has emerged so far. Manager Michael Carrick, a former teammate of Rashford’s, is understood to have held an extended conversation with him ahead of his comeback. Since rejoining training on August 9, Rashford has been introduced to numerous new staff members and shown the club’s recently renovated, £50 million training facility.
Mentoring the Next Generation
Beyond his own reintegration, Rashford has reportedly taken a hands-on role in supporting the club’s younger talents, including 15-year-old academy standout JJ Gabriel, as well as 19-year-old winger Shea Lacey. He has also reconnected with England teammate Kobbie Mainoo and remains close with Youri Tielemans, who joined United from Aston Villa this summer after playing alongside Rashford there.
Teammate Harry Maguire publicly backed Rashford’s return following United’s pre-season-ending 4-2 loss to AC Milan, describing him as a significant asset the squad hopes will stay on. With the transfer window still open, Rashford’s next move remains to be seen, but early signs at Carrington point toward a fresh chapter at his boyhood club.
