Meta Launches Prescription-Ready Ray-Ban AI Glasses for All-Day Wear
Meta has unveiled two new styles of its Ray-Ban AI glasses designed to support nearly all prescription lens types, marking a significant step toward making AI wearables a part of everyday life. The new frames — “Blayzer Optics” in a rectangular style and “Scriber Optics” in a rounder, slimmer profile — are available in multiple colorways including Matte Black, Transparent Dark Olive, and seasonal shades like Transparent Stone Beige.
Both designs feature ergonomic upgrades such as overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and optician-adjustable temple tips, making them adaptable to a wide range of face shapes for a comfortable, tailored fit.
A Growing Product Lineup
Meta reports that Ray-Ban AI glasses sales have more than tripled year over year, with millions of units sold globally in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. Alongside the new frames, Meta is expanding its Gen 2 Ray-Ban and Oakley Meta glasses range with additional lens options suited to outdoor and sports use.
New Features Packed In
The updated glasses introduce nutrition tracking, WhatsApp summaries and recall, Instagram Reels browsing directly from the glasses, in-lens games, and expanded Spotify integration to match music to activities.
However, the expansion raises fresh privacy concerns. Meta is currently under investigation in both the U.S. and the U.K. over its human review process for footage captured by glass wearers, with reports of contractors viewing highly personal content.
The new glasses are available for pre-order in the U.S. starting at $499, with retail availability at optical stores beginning April 14.
