X Tests Grok AI Guidance Inside Ads Manager

X has begun beta testing a new integration that brings its Grok chatbot directly into Ads Manager, giving advertisers access to AI-generated guidance while building campaigns. Some advertisers were recently notified of the test, which was first spotted in a screenshot shared on Threads. The rollout adds new tooltips and creative prompts designed to help marketers shape their ad approach and generate in-stream creative ideas directly within the platform.

Part of a Broader AI Push

This update builds on X’s April overhaul of Ads Manager, which the company described as the most significant advertising system update in its history. That redesign focused on improving how X interprets user interests, aiming to sharpen ad relevance and delivery based on real-time trends across the app. The Grok integration is being positioned as the next step in that evolution, embedding conversational AI support directly into the ad-creation workflow rather than treating it as a separate tool.

Toward Fully Automated Advertising

X owner Elon Musk has previously said he envisions Grok eventually enabling complete advertising automation on the platform, covering everything from campaign creation to ad safety checks and content matching. With more than 550 million users generating vast amounts of behavioral data, X is positioning itself to use AI for more precise audience matching, identifying likely customer profiles based on purchase history and in-app activity patterns. As the Grok integration expands beyond beta, it could mark a major step toward agentic ad generation, where AI systems build and optimize campaigns with minimal manual input from advertisers.
