Harry Kane Becomes Fastest Player to Score 100 Bundesliga Goals

Harry Kane has added another landmark to his glittering career, becoming the fastest player in history to reach 100 Bundesliga goals. The England captain hit the milestone with a penalty against Union Berlin on Friday night, needing only 98 appearances in Germany’s top flight. Harry Kane’s 100 Bundesliga goals arrived a remarkable 31 games quicker than the previous record holder. It cements his status as one of Europe’s elite finishers.

Breaking Dieter Müller’s 1977 Record

The old mark belonged to German great Dieter Müller, who needed 129 matches to reach 100 goals for FC Cologne in 1977. Kane later added his 101st league goal in a 7-0 win for Bayern Munich. His scoring rate of one goal every 78.5 minutes is also better than that of Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.

The striker has also become the fastest player in Bayern’s history to reach 150 goals for the club, doing so in 153 games. Only Cristiano Ronaldo has reached that figure for one club more quickly, taking 149 matches at Real Madrid. It underlines his rapid impact in Munich.

Speaking after the match, Kane said he was proud of the achievement and had “loved every second of it”. He credited team-mates Michael Olise, Luis Díaz and Jamal Musiala for creating chances and thanked the club for its support.

The 33-year-old, who joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023 for £100 million and has been their anchorman ever since, will link up with England next week for the first international break since the World Cup.

Premier League Return Still in Doubt

Many wondered whether Kane would return to England to chase Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals. Kane is on 213, but he said earlier this year that he is in no rush to leave Germany, feeling settled at a side he rates among the world’s best.
