Meta Launches Enterprise Platform to Turn AI Spending Into Revenue
Meta has launched the Meta Enterprise Platform, a new offering designed to drive business adoption of its artificial intelligence products and open another revenue stream for its increasingly expensive AI operations. The announcement came from CEO Mark Zuckerberg on September 28, 2026.
What the Platform Offers
Zuckerberg said the platform will give businesses access to Meta’s Muse agents, Muse API and Muse Code, tools intended to automate internal functions and operations. He argued that Meta brings strengths few rivals can match, including advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure and years of experience working with businesses.
“Over the coming years, AI will fundamentally redefine how organizations of all sizes innovate, grow, serve customers, and run business operations,” Zuckerberg said. He added that Meta’s track record of helping millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of businesses scale gives it a unique role.
Chirantan Desai, the former CEO of enterprise database provider MongoDB, will lead the initiative.
The Pressure to Show Returns
The launch arrives as Meta looks for a more direct route to profit from its massive AI infrastructure investments. The company has committed more than $600 million to AI infrastructure projects in the U.S. alone, and its overall AI commitment is thought to exceed $1 trillion. That scale of spending has left investors questioning how Meta can ever turn a profit from it.
Trust Remains the Key Question
Whether businesses will trust Meta with sensitive internal data is a central concern. The company has faced numerous data misuse cases and has a record of ending business-focused projects at short notice, such as shutting down its Workplace platform in 2024. This year, it has also pushed businesses toward paid subscription packages for Facebook and Instagram by limiting the links they can share in posts.
Those past actions may weigh on potential enterprise customers as they consider whether Meta is a dependable long-term partner.
