Pinterest Launches Its First Beauty Trends Report for 2026
Pinterest has published its first-ever beauty trends report, highlighting the makeup, hair, fragrance and skincare ideas gaining traction on the platform in 2026. The report is based on year-over-year increases in search activity, giving consumers and marketers a clear view of what Pinners are actively exploring.
11 Trends Across Colors, Finishes, Scents and Styles
The report identifies 11 trends covering the key colors, finishes, scents and styles that have resonated with users throughout the year. Each trend comes with an overview and a list of the specific ideas within it, helping brands see which looks are sparking interest. Pinterest notes that 85% of weekly users say they discover new beauty trends or ideas on the platform before seeing them anywhere else.
New Beauty Guides and a Sephora Partnership
Alongside the report, Pinterest announced Beauty Guides, a new element that shows Pinners how to recreate trending looks. The company also revealed a partnership with Sephora tied to the Makeup Maximalism trend. It will help users find products in-store that match the interests they have shown in the app.
For marketers, the findings could inform creative direction and campaign planning aimed at the Pinterest audience. With 640 million monthly active users and rising, the platform has become a significant source of inspiration, and beauty is among its top categories. The trends may therefore point not only to what is popular on Pinterest but also to broader cultural shifts in how people approach beauty.
The release follows other category reports from Pinterest, including recent looks at men’s trends and hobbies, the latter of which highlighted DIY and vintage. Together, they show the platform positioning itself as an early indicator of consumer interest.
