Barcelona Stay Perfect as Bayern Held and United Beaten

Tuesday’s Champions League results saw Barcelona extend their perfect season with a 4-1 win at Galatasaray, while Bayern Munich were held to a 3-3 draw at Viking Stavanger despite a Harry Kane brace. Manchester United also suffered, losing 2-0 at Atlético Madrid.

Barcelona Recover From Early Scare

Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute through Aleksey Bartrakov, but Joao Cancelo levelled in the 43rd. Fermín López put the visitors ahead in the 50th minute, and Anthony Gordon added a third just three minutes later. Substitute Karim Adeyemi completed the scoring, handing Barcelona their 10th win from as many games this season across all competitions.

Bayern Throw Away Comeback in Norway

Stavanger led 2-0 at halftime thanks to Gianni Stensness’s second-minute header and Peter Christiansen’s strike in the 38th. Kane converted a penalty in the 54th minute and headed an equaliser on the hour. He was then involved in Luis Díaz’s 71st-minute goal, which completed the turnaround. However, Michael Olise was sent off for a second bookable offence, and Herman Haugen headed home a 90th-minute equaliser for the hosts.

Elsewhere, last season’s finalists Arsenal cruised past Lille 3-0, with Jurrien Timber, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka all scoring within eight second-half minutes. Atlético Madrid added to United’s troubles. Pablo Barrios scored in the first minute, and Ademola Lookman doubled the lead in the 79th, five minutes after Leny Yoro was shown a red card.

The results leave Barcelona flying in the league phase, while Bayern and United have defensive questions to answer before their next European fixtures.
