Carlos Santana postpones six shows ‘out of caution’ for his health

Carlos Santana postponed his tour after suffering from stage fright earlier this week.

In a statement shared with news on Friday, Universal Tone Management president Michael Vrionis said the “legendary guitarist,” 74, postponed six concerts “as a precautionary measure for the artist’s health. Santana is currently on the Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.

“The doctor advised Mr. Santana to rest to recover fully,” added Vrionis.

Vrionis said Santana “is doing well and wants to get back on stage. She needs to rest. Santana is very sorry for the delay in her upcoming performance, but her health is our main concern. She can’t wait to see all of her fans soon.”

The musician’s performance Friday at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville. Indiana, was affected, as was Saturday’s concert at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Santana is also designed to perform at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 10; July 12 at the Arkansas Walmart Music Pavilion in Rogers, AR; July 15 at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas; and on July 16 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas.

Live Nation will announce details of the postponed concerts at a later date. However, tickets already purchased will be great for new shows, Vrionis said in a statement.

Santana’s break from the stage came after she was rush to the hospital after collapsing. While performing at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan, on Tuesday night. A Santana representative told news in a statement that he was “overwhelme by heat exhaustion and dehydration” during the show, adding, “Carlos was brought to the McLaren Clarkston ER for observation and is fine.”

Early Wednesday, Santana reassure fans that he was fine. He thanked “everyone” for their “precious prayers.”
