Kanye West surprised audiences at the 2022 BET Awards
Kanye West is back.
The 45-year-old musician Kanye West made a rare public appearance at the 2022 BET Awards on Sunday to present his friends Sean “Didi” Combs with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmunds for his performance.
“How do you crown our kings? How do you honor our kings?” said West whose face was entirely cover by a hat, sunglasses, and black mask – on stage.
“To this day, I take his advice. He inspired so many of my decisions, so many of my decisions in life. My wife’s choice,” West continued, referring to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, before adding with a laugh, “Thanks for that, Poof.”
“You know, I took a little break. I said I just wanted to declare myself dead for a year legally. I just wanted to get off the grid, and Puff was pretty stubborn, but I have to think bro is like an amnesiac. As if I didn’t ever call Puff more than once. Everyone in this room needs to come in and be there if Poof needs us. This man has been through a lot [and] endured and broken down many doors for us to stand on…he has broken down so many doors to classicism, taste, and rudeness. “Puff, if I never told you I love you, you were my brother,” West said.
West’s first appearance at the awards since the Grammy Awards barred him from attending the ceremony in April, despite five nominations for “online behavior.”
In early March, West shared the music video for his single “Eazy” with The Game, in which the audio version of Davidson, 28, is kidnap, tie up, and buried. He then downloaded the video.
A source told the news that Kardashian was “angry” and “upset” by the music video. “He thought he was too mean and annoyed,” an insider explaine, noting that the reality star was “totally above all else and wanted to quit.”
