Hillary Clinton reveals the story behind Dillard’s tailor-made wedding dress
In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Hillary Clinton revealed her wedding style.
Hillary Clinton took the spontaneous route when saying yes to the dress.
During an interview on Thursday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, host Drew Barrymore ask Hillary if her wedding dress was at Dillard’s. She simply replied, “Yes, it was.”
Hillary’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, 42, who accompanied her mother to the show, later asked Barrymore how many tries it took before she found the dress.
“Just one thing, I found what I wanted,” admits Hilary, 74, getting a surprised look from The Wedding Singer actress.
“But this is what happened,” Hillary continued. “My husband (Bill Clinton) has asked me to marry him twice, and I said ‘Not now, no’. The third time was the charm.
The dress in question is a bohemian dress with bell details and lace knitting. In February 2020, the former Secretary of State shared a throwback photo on Instagram of their 1975 wedding anniversary, showing Bill’s wedding attire and groom’s suit (which he paired with a polka dot tie).
Hillary has previously spoken about her signature style, including her signature pants.
Speaking to CBS News on September 6 ahead of the premiere of Gutsy, the Clinton family’s Apple TV+ documentary series inspire by their best-selling book The Book of Gutsy Women, the former first lady reveal that her current uniform is base on her decisions. she was wearing a skirt on a state visit to Brazil. “I sat on the couch, and the press was allow in,” Hillary told CBS host Norah O’Donnell. “Some of them were shot.”
She later reveal the photos were later use in underwear advertisements. “Suddenly, the White House got a warning about a billboard showing me sitting down, I thought my feet were together, but the way it was take was a bit suggestive.”
The incident in Brazil was not the only unpleasant encounter. “I would be on stage, up the stairs, and they would be under me,” said the bestselling author. “I couldn’t handle it. That’s why I started wearing pants.”
