LinkedIn Rolls Out AI Tool for Event Highlights

LinkedIn is giving creators and brands a new way to squeeze more value out of their live streams. The platform has introduced an AI-powered system that automatically surfaces recommended clips and chapters from event recordings, making it simpler to repurpose long broadcasts into short, shareable content.

How the New Feature Works

The tool adds a recommended-clips panel to LinkedIn’s event management dashboard. Hosts can browse AI-selected highlights in a side window, then trim or extend individual segments before publishing them. According to LinkedIn, the system is designed to help marketers convert full-length recordings into short-form content that keeps audiences engaged well after an event wraps up. The AI also detects standout moments — such as major announcements, key insights, and notable quotes — and organizes them into chapters, giving viewers an easier way to navigate and skim through replays instead of watching from start to finish.

Timing Aligns With Rising Video Demand

The update lands as LinkedIn sees growing engagement around live and video content. The company previously reported a 24% jump in events shared on the platform during the first quarter of 2025, alongside a recent double-digit rise in overall content consumption, with short-form video seeing particularly strong growth. Given those trends, the new highlight tool could become a practical way for marketers to capitalize on shifting viewing habits without investing extra time in manual editing.

LinkedIn confirmed that the recommended clips and chapters feature is now available to all users worldwide, meaning any organization hosting events on the platform can begin testing the tool immediately to extend the shelf life of their live content.
