X Rolls Out New Livestream Studio for Creators
X has introduced an updated livestreaming command center inside its Creator Studio platform, aimed at making it simpler for creators to schedule and manage live broadcasts directly within the app. The refreshed tool is designed to give creators a more streamlined experience when going live, particularly from desktop computers.
Streamlined Setup and Real-Time Insights
The new live composer simplifies the launch process for desktop broadcasts, offering creators easier access to chat controls, custom thumbnail uploads, and other setup essentials. Once a stream goes live, the dashboard also delivers real-time audience insights, including peak viewer counts, comment activity, and demographic breakdowns of who’s tuning in. However, the feature is restricted to subscribers of X Premium or higher, since it requires access to Media Studio, meaning free users won’t be able to use it.
Cash Incentives to Boost Adoption
To encourage creators to try the new tools, X is offering an additional $1 million in creator funding this month specifically for livestreamers. X’s head of product, Nikita Bier, said the funding push is meant to jumpstart livestream activity on the platform, though exactly how the money will be distributed among creators remains unclear.
The update comes as X continues to compete for live-event attention with rivals like Threads, which has been gaining ground in real-time discussion. Whether the new studio meaningfully shifts creator behavior will likely depend on where each brand or creator’s audience already engages most.
