YouTube removed R Kelly TV and R Kelly Vevo, saying the solution was “by our YouTuber Responsibilities Policy.” Singers cannot create new channels, but their music will still be available on YouTube Music. His songs stay on the audio streaming service, and his music videos posted by other YouTubers stay up.
The platform has removed channels following previous convictions, R. Kelly’s YouTube Channel such as the case of US gymnastics coach Larry Nasar, who was jailed for the violent murder of hundreds of young gymnasts. R. Kelly will be sentence next May and could spend the rest of his life in prison.
The Mute R Kelly campaign, which wants the singer’s music to stop broadcasting R. Kelly’s YouTube Channel or streaming, has called on other major platforms to follow YouTube’s lead.

Kelly’s trial was heard by eleven prosecutors – nine women and two men – who described the humiliation and sexual assault they endured. After two days from discussion, the jury found the singer guilty on nine counts.
He is one of the most high-profile people to face sex charges in the wake of the #MeToo movement, which was sparked by allegations of sexual assault against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Weinstein closed earlier this year.
