Beyoncé asks for an Austin Powers remake on the Goldmember poster after making her look ‘too skinny’
“It’s not me,” Beyoncé said of her appearance on the movie poster, makeup artist Kate Biscoe told Vulture.
Celebrating 20 years of Austin Powers on Goldmember means celebrating 20 years of Beyoncé in Foxy’s portrayal of the brave and beautiful Cleopatra.
During an interview with Vulture about the story of the singer’s role in “Break My Soul” in the 2002 comedy starring Mike Myers. ALSO makeup artist Kate Biscoe revealed that 40-year-old Beyoncé asked for a redesign of the film poster because she didn’t want to see herself so lowly.
“He said, ‘You made me too skinny. That wasn’t me,’ said Biscoe at the exit. “Then he made this hourglass shape. And he said, ‘Okay, we’ll fix it.’ She walked away to do the scene, and I looked at her and smiled. “Is this the first time an actress wants to make her body bigger?” She said, “Yes. It’s went to cost me thousands of dollars, but I’m going to do it.”
Austin Powers in Goldmember, the 3rd installment in the popular Austin Powers franchise, is the ‘Single Woman’ singer’s second significant film role; In 2001, she starred in the TV film Carmen: A Hip Hopera.
She appeared in several other films that made it onto the big screen. Including Obsessed with Idris Elba, Dreamgirls, The Pink Panther, also Cadillac Records. Also she voiced Nala in the action film The Lion King her voice.
“Assembling this album gave me a place to dream also an escape route at a time that was scary for the world. It made me feel free and adventurous when nothing else was moving,” the Lemonade singer wrote on Instagram. “I intend to create a safe place without judgment. A place free from perfectionism and overthinking.”
