TikTok Crowns Fourth Wing Europe’s First BookTok Bestseller of the Year
TikTok has named Rebecca Yarros’ novel “Fourth Wing” its first European BookTok Bestseller of the Year for 2026. The inaugural honor is based on in-app discussion and in-store sales, with research carried out by Media Control.
A Shortlist Led by Commercial Fiction
The top European bestseller list shows where the BookTok community’s tastes lie. Author Chloe Walsh had two titles on it, “Binding 13” and “Saving 6”. They appeared alongside Rachel Reid’s “Heated Rivalry” and Elle Kennedy’s “The Mistake”. The mix reflects strong community interest in commercial fiction.
TikTok says the platform drove 50 million book sales across the EU in 2025, underlining its place in modern publishing and reading trends.
BookTok Is Turning Viewers into Readers
Alongside the award, TikTok released findings from a Qualtrics report based on a global survey of more than 5,000 users. It found that four in five TikTok readers aged 16 to 39 have become more interested in reading over the past few years. Users also said the platform helped them discover new genres, and 49% of BookTokers said it had inspired them to buy a book or audiobook.
The results point to TikTok’s growing influence as a driver of cultural trends and a hub for discovery and connection. That makes it a key consideration for marketers promoting creative works, as users increasingly turn to the app for recommendations on books, music, movies and more.
The award follows TikTok’s March expansion of its #BookTok bestseller lists across Europe and the UK, signaling that the platform is likely to keep investing in the category.
