Shakira arrives in Mexico for rehearsals

Shakira has touched down in Mexico City as she gears up for her highly anticipated stadium tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, set to kick off on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Arrival in Mexico

The Colombian superstar arrived at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) on Tuesday, January 21, aboard a private jet. She was welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd of fans and escorted by her private security team and members of the National Guard.

Despite the tight security, Shakira spent time greeting fans, signing autographs, and posing for pictures.

In brief comments to the Mexican press, Shakira expressed her excitement to be in the country:

“I am very happy to be here in Mexico, a country that has supported me, understood me, loved me, and I love you with all my heart.”

Shakira revealed that Mexico was chosen as the rehearsal base for the tour due to its supportive fanbase and logistical advantages. This marks her return to the international stage after nearly seven years since her El Dorado World Tour.

Speaking to the media, Shakira shared:

“It has been a very healing process, for me and for many women, and for many people who have accompanied me from the start.”

Record-Breaking Shows in Mexico

Shakira is set to perform seven consecutive sold-out concerts at the Estadio GNP Seguros (formerly Foro Sol) in March, making history as the first artist to achieve this milestone at the venue.

The shows are expected to draw a total audience of approximately 455,000 people on the following dates:

  • March 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, and 30

According to the promoter Ocesa, tickets for all seven concerts have already sold out, further underscoring Shakira’s enduring popularity in the region.

A Love for Mexican Cuisine

During her stay, Shakira expressed her excitement to indulge in traditional Mexican dishes. When asked about her favorite foods, she shared her craving for tacos and flautas, praising the flavors and richness of Mexican cuisine.

With her return to the stage and an ambitious tour schedule, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran promises to be a celebration of resilience, music, and connection with her global fanbase.
