Snapchat Lets Pharma Brands Add Disclaimer Links to Ads

Snapchat has rolled out a new advertising option designed specifically for pharmaceutical marketers, allowing them to attach product disclosure links directly within their in-feed ads. The update, announced this week, gives pharma brands an easier way to share safety information without cluttering the main ad creative.

Multi-CTA Support Adds Compliance Options

The key addition is multi-CTA attachment support, which lets advertisers place small, tappable text links beneath their primary ad. According to Snapchat, brands can now configure up to three disclaimer CTAs alongside one primary call-to-action button. This structure addresses a common challenge for pharma marketers, who often must direct different audiences — patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals — to distinct resources such as safety guides or full prescribing information, all from a single ad unit.

Snapchat noted that a single click-out is rarely sufficient for regulated healthcare campaigns, since users frequently need access to more than one type of information depending on where they are in their healthcare journey.

Rolling Out Across Multiple Ad Formats

The new disclaimer-link feature is currently available across Snap Ads, Story Ads, and Commercials, with support for Sponsored Snaps expected later this year. Snapchat positioned the update as a way to help pharma advertisers stay compliant with regulatory disclosure requirements while still engaging Snapchat’s audience.

The platform pointed to strong user interest in the health category, stating that 95% of its users have expressed interest in health and wellness content. That engagement, combined with more flexible compliance tools, could make Snapchat an increasingly attractive platform for pharmaceutical advertising, a category that has historically been cautious about social media due to strict regulatory requirements around drug marketing and safety disclosures.
