TikTok Introduces Two-Tier Badge System for Agency Partners
TikTok has announced an update to its partner program that will divide participating agencies into two distinct categories. The change is designed to highlight platform expertise and give marketers a clearer way to judge which agencies are best equipped to run campaigns on the app.
Under the new structure, each partner will receive either a TikTok Agency Partner badge or a Premier Agency Partner badge. Each designation aims to reflect an organization’s depth of experience and its demonstrated understanding of TikTok advertising.
What the Agency Partner Badge Means
TikTok describes the standard Agency Partner badge as an established mark of platform excellence. It is awarded to qualified agencies that show strong performance, operational capability and certified team expertise. For brands looking to launch and scale performance campaigns, this badge signals that an agency has met TikTok’s baseline requirements.
Premier Status for Top Performers
The Premier Agency Partner badge sits at the top of the program. TikTok calls it an exclusive honor that will go only to a select group of top-performing partners worldwide. According to the company, Premier status recognizes agencies that consistently deliver proven business results, show deep platform expertise and maintain a firm commitment to TikTok-first marketing. It is positioned as the better fit for large-scale, specialized activations.
Despite the difference in prestige, TikTok says both certifications give brands a level of assurance that an agency has satisfied its partnership requirements. The company says brands can work with badged partners with confidence, knowing they are dealing with vetted specialists.
The updated system should also make it easier for marketers to compare advisors and choose the right agency for their needs.
TikTok launched its Agency Partner program in 2020. It now offers access to more than 600 approved partners covering areas such as creative, marketing technology and measurement. With the new badges, the platform is adding a clearer layer of differentiation to that growing network as competition for advertising budgets continues.
