X Launches Dedicated MLB Gametime Hub for Baseball Fans

X is extending its Gametime feature to Major League Baseball, giving fans a dedicated hub for live scores, key moments and conversation around every game. The launch follows the expanded NFL Gametime experience introduced in August, and X says more sports will be added in the coming months.

The MLB hub works much like its football counterpart, pairing a real-time overview of key plays with posts about each matchup. X says the feature was developed by SpaceXAI and brings live scores and stats, official team content, news, creators and fan discussion into one destination inside the app. With baseball’s long season producing games almost daily, the hub has a steady stream of moments to capture.

Why Sports Matter to X

The move reflects where X sees its strongest audience. Much industry coverage has focused on owner Elon Musk’s politics and their influence on platform policy, but sports remains the most discussed topic among users. X’s own data shows it drawing nearly twice the impressions of the next-largest category. Sports communities tend to be active, engaged and habitual, and many have stayed on X even as other conversations have drifted to rival apps.

Opportunities for Brands

X is also pitching Gametime to advertisers. As the feature spreads across more sports calendars, the company says brands will get more ways to reach highly attentive audiences around the biggest moments. Sponsors that want to connect with fans in real time could find a more focused environment than a general timeline.

Whether dedicated hubs will deepen engagement remains to be seen, but the strategy is clear: keep sports fans anchored to the platform with a focused, game-by-game experience. If the MLB rollout resembles the NFL’s, other leagues are likely to get similar treatment soon, giving fans a more organized way to follow their teams and join the conversation.
