Meta’s Edits App Adds AI Video Tools and Project Upgrades

Meta has rolled out a fresh set of updates to its Edits video editing app, continuing a near-weekly cadence of improvements that have made the tool increasingly useful for creators. The latest changes touch project organization, AI-driven video creation, and template design.

Smarter Project Management

Edits has reworked how users manage their in-progress video concepts. People can now long-press on a project to reposition it within their folder list, making it easier to reorder projects and prioritize active work. The app has also introduced a bookmarking feature for text and caption styles, letting creators save preferred looks directly from their canvas so they can reapply consistent branding across future projects without leaving their workflow.

AI Image-to-Video and Expanded Creative Options

The most notable addition is a new AI feature available to U.S. users that transforms still images into video clips using conversational prompts. Creators simply describe the motion or action they want to see, and Meta’s AI animates the photo accordingly. Edits has also expanded its audio search tools, allowing users to find sound clips based on mood descriptors like “chill” or “bossy,” as well as interest categories such as fashion and travel.

Beyond these additions, Edits now supports multiple project versions and richer templates, including overlay support and the ability to lock specific clips in place during editing. The app also shared updates to its bilingual caption tools and broader text display options.

Together, these updates reflect Meta’s ongoing push to position Edits as a comprehensive, AI-enhanced alternative to other short-form video editing platforms, giving creators more flexibility and creative control in a single app.
