Meta Says AI Upgrades Are Boosting Ad Clicks and Conversions
Meta says artificial intelligence upgrades to its ad delivery systems are producing measurable gains for advertisers. In an Oct. 28 announcement, the company said improvements to its ads ranking system in the second quarter of 2026 drove 8.3% more ad clicks and a 15.7% uplift in conversions on Facebook.
Three Upgrades Behind the Gains
Meta credited several innovations. Its Andromeda system, the first step in the ad display process, can now consider a wider range of potential product matches for each business and align them with individual user interests. The Generative Ads Recommendation Model (GEM) now processes more data and signals from each user’s engagement history to improve relevance. Meanwhile, GenRecs better connects engagement with user preferences, helping it predict relevant ads even for brand-new ones with little history.
The third quarter brought further results. Andromeda improvements increased conversions by 1.4% on Facebook, while generative retrieval, launched on Facebook Feed, drove a nearly 2% rise in conversions across targeted segments. Meta says its expanding data processing capacity, supported by its data center projects, lets its systems assess more actions and products faster.
Business Assistant and Partnership Ads Grow
In a separate release, Meta said its AI business assistant, which is gradually rolling out to more advertisers, is already delivering 5% more conversions at the same cost. Partnership ads, which let brands run campaigns with creators and other partners, grew more than 97% year over year in Q3 and have surpassed a $15 billion annual revenue run-rate.
Meta is also developing checkout options within its AI agents, including Muse, which would give users more ways to purchase in-stream. For advertisers, the takeaway is that Meta’s growing AI capacity is steadily improving how ads are matched to audiences.
